Courageous

If you have not yet seen this movie, do yourself and your family a favor and go rent or buy it, and watch it ASAP!  The group from Sherwood Pictures have brought us yet another heartwarming film that will make you cry, laugh, and most of all, reignite your passion to love God, live for Him, and acknowledge the blessings that are promised and given to us if we choose to trust and obey the Lord.

I just watched this movie last night with my husband, and even though I've been too sick lately to cook much and blog, I knew I had to write about this movie!  I am so thankful for this group of writers, producers, and directors.  They have already brought us Flywheel, Facing the Giants, and Fireproof, besides this movie.  I am already eager to see their next one!

The message of the movie is how important the role of fathers are in their children's lives.  Fathers should be the head of the household - be able to step up to the plate and take care of their wives and children, teach their children about God, be a part of their lives and love them, and provide the best example of a life that loves, fears, and lives for God.

I have been extraordinarily blessed with the best Dad I could've ever asked for.  He was ALL of the above, and then some.  He took the time, even when I was a baby, to teach me about God and was always a great example and inspiration to me my whole life.  He is creative, hilarious, and so talented.  He is someone who I will always respect, because I know his wisdom has come from not only experiences, but from studying God's word and being faithful to it.  My family means the world to me, and I thank God all the time for allowing me to be a part of it.

Here is a music video of the song the amazing Casting Crowns wrote for this movie (it's also called 'Courageous').  There are some movie clips that go along with it:
